Miosotis: The Flower of Remembrance, Love, and Lasting Faithfulness
Miosotis (or Myosotis) refers to a genus of about 50 flowering plants commonly known as forget-me- nots, sometimes called scorpion grasses. They represent themes of remembrance, love, and faithfulness. Originating from Greek, the name means “mouse’s ear”, referring to the shape of it’s leaves. It is used both botanically and as a romantic, symbolic name. Miosotis is used as a given name in Spanish-speaking cultures.

I’ve always prayed and dreamed about owning my own business and working for myself. To say that this was a challenge is an understatement. I would like to thank God because without him, none of this would be possible. I would also like to thank those people who taught me what I know today, and I am still learning the art of making candles, soaps, bath bombs, and other bath and beauty products. I’d also like to thank my family Alvin Torres for believing in me and helping me, as well as my children Belle, Alvin jr., and Joey Torres. My siblings Rudy Contreras, Eddie Contreras, Betty Ramsey, and Melody Ramsey, who gave me business advice, and pushed me to never give up. Lastly, to my mother Tomasa Thelma Contreras. She is the reason I started being interested in plant-based, herbal and holistic products. My mother and father had a garden full of fruits and vegetables back in the 80s. We grew different kinds of flowers, herbs, and medicinal plants. She would often make herbal teas with some of those plants, and still does till this day. She’s the reason that I’ve learned what I know about different herbs and plants. After God, she’s the inspiration for this company. I want to thank her for giving me life.
